Iron Maiden sues rapper Osama Son for plagiarism on his new album

British metal group Iron Maiden sued American rapper Osama Son for the crime of plagiarism in his new album.

According to reports, the band denounced that the rapper used the image of Eddie, their traditional mascot, on the cover of the Flex Musix album, which he released at the end of 2023.

In this way, the rockers pointed out that the American musician used the image with slight changes, affecting their copyright and intellectual property rights.

That is why, after several months of legal dispute, Osama Son announced on May 1, on his social networks, that he would change the cover of his album by order of the group.

“Iron Maiden is suing me so… the cover disappeared”, he said on his social networks. For this reason, the rapper changed the illustration of his album on all his platforms.

Eddie’s image was used for the first time in 1984 by the group, specifically to promote the album “Powerslave”, remaining in the band’s graphic tradition for many years.
