Bill Murray will star in the next “Ant-Man”

Bill Murray may have said more than Disney would have liked, but the damage is done: he’ll be in the next one Ant-Man. The actor, who is currently promoting The French Dispatch by Wes Anderson, told the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, relayed by Variety.

“Recently I made a Marvel movie. I probably shouldn’t tell you, but whatever. Some were quite surprised by my decision and the reason why I embarked on such a project, ”he said, referring to Ant-Man and the Wasp : Quantumania.

And indeed, the actor navigates rather on the independent side, with directors like Jim Jarmusch and Sofia Coppola, even if the general public has also been able to appreciate it since the 80s in Ghostbusters and its consequences. “For me, things were pretty clear: I got to know the director – and I really enjoyed him. He was funny, humble, whatever you want in a filmmaker, ”he explained of Peyton Reed, who also directed a movie the actor particularly likes, American Girls.

“Suddenly, I accepted, even if I’m not interested more than that, as an actor, by these huge comic book adaptations,” added Bill Murray.

Don’t expect his role to be a recurring one though, “Let’s put it like this: the director is a nice guy, and now I at least know what it’s like to shoot a Marvel movie.” But I don’t think I will need this experience a second time. “
