Gal Gadot in “El Comercio”: he tells all the secrets behind “Red Alert” | VIDEO

As in “Wonder Woman,” Gal Gadot’s character in “Red alert”Has extraordinary abilities. Only in this film, his talents are used for non-altruistic purposes. Sarah Black can hack into bank accounts in seconds, walk through the front door of a Russian maximum security prison and, if necessary, fight like an Amazon with guns or bare knuckles. And all for the love of art and the invaluable historical pieces that he steals to sell on the black market. But, as with some villains, that of Gal Gadot gets along with. At times she looks like a Carmen Sandiego, at others, Gatúbela; a duality that was fun to work for the actress.

“It was refreshing to be able to do something completely different from what I usually do and explore that villainous side, but also femme fatale, the type of character who plays with his prey.”, Explained the Israeli in a video call by Zoom with Skip Intro of “El Comercio” which was made hours before it was announced that she will be the evil witch of “Snow White” in the ‘live action’ of the Disney classic directed by Marc Webb, and which gives a preview of the new paths that Gadot wants to follow.

Although the actress’s projects have already confirmed a film in which she will give life to Cleopatra and a bioseries by Hedy Lamarr, the Austrian who invented the technology on which Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are based, the plans with “Red Alert” they are also ambitious. It is enough to remember the dispute that was generated around the story between film giants who wanted to distribute it and that, finally, Netflix won with a view to turning it into a franchise.

But, as has happened with almost all the productions that are premiering this year, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed everything. The film stopped its filming in March 2020 and they only resumed in September of that same year in an atmosphere of uncertainty that clearly remembers its protagonist. “I think we were one of the first films to be re-filmed during the pandemic and there were many doubts, concerns and questions”Explained Gadot, highlighting how teamwork and co-stars Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds made things more bearable.

The guys are wonderful, both DJ and Ryan. We had a great time working together“Said the actress, for whom having colleagues with so much experience in action films turned the fight scenes into a kind of” dance. ” “It all happened naturally and in a simple way. It was easy to do, it didn’t feel like a challenge. And despite COVID-19, it felt like a safe environment. Netflix made sure that this was the case so that on stage we could do everything we had to do”Said Gadot about the changes due to the pandemic.

What did not change with COVID-19 was the decision that the film was a bet for streaming. And, although the film can be seen in selected cinemas around the world, the main objective is to reach all corners of the planet from the platform and through the device that the audience prefers; although Gal Gadot has a very specific recommendation: do not watch this or other movies on your phones.

Knowing how much work it takes to make a movie, I would never see one on my phone. All that effort cannot be summed up on that small screen. I recommend watching this movie on the biggest screen you have at home”, Says the actress. It will have to be taken into account.
