Carlos Alcántara premieres his first Christmas comedy called “El Refugio”

The popular Carlos Alcántara returns to theaters starring in his first Christmas comedy “El Refugio”. A Spanish film for the whole family with the funniest and most crazy story to celebrate the most anticipated parties of the year and that from December 8 enters the national billboard.

Co-produced by Tondero this is the second film by the popular Peruvian actor in Spain, who this time plays a character where he unleashes all that talent and which has led him to be considered one of the best and the highest grossing in our country. This Christmas comedy is directed by Macarena Astorga, with whom he previously worked at La Casa del Caracol.

“Despite the respect that comedy gave me a priori, every day of filming I felt more comfortable. It has been a lot of fun working with a cast of actors who have grown their characters with their contributions, but it has also been a challenge for me to direct such a choral cast. There was a lot of laughs behind the combo with the situations that are created in the film, we had a lot of fun and I am sure that the public will also have a great time watching El Refugio ”, affirms Macarena Astorga.

Carlos Alcántara is accompanied in “El Refugio” by important figures of Spanish and international cinema such as Loles León, Leo Harlem, María Barranco, David Guapo, Mariam Hernández and Sara Sálamo, Antonio Dechent and the small (but great actors) Luna and Rubén Fulgencio and Marco Ezcurdia, three children who will make you see everything from another perspective.

There is something magical about Christmas Eve at “El Refugio”, when the little ones sit by the fireplace listening to their grandfather’s stories. Anything can happen if circumstances place the protagonists in the middle of an unforeseen snowstorm in the middle of the mountain. Without provisions each one has to fight for the survival of the group (and of themselves) during those innocent days of Christmas. Everything can happen and everything can end well or very badly.

“El Refugio” comes from the hand of the international team formed by the producers Álvaro Ariza (This Will Also Happen) with Miguel Valladares (Tondero – Peru), Antonio Mauri (Mexico), Cindy Teperman (Argentina) and Maria Luisa Gutierrez (Spain).

Based on an original idea by Sandra García Nieto (La Casa del Caracol), with a script by Alicia Luna, Beatriz Iznaola and Inés Silva, EL REFUGIO repeats the international co-production scheme responsible for the success of La Casa del Caracol, promoted by Esto Also Pasará in co-production with Bowfinger International Pictures from Spain, Tondero from Peru and Hippo Entertainment from Mexico and this time hand in hand with El Refugio LP AIE and Sygnatia in Spain and Argentina’s Cindy Teperman from the United States.
