Luces 2021 Awards: we are turning 18 and this time we recognize the work of podcasts and influencers from Peru

There are words that become fashionable and define a collective feeling. ‘Uncertainty’ was perhaps the term we use the most to express what we felt in the first year of the health emergency. However, other words helped us to maintain the illusion in the future: resilience, creativity and adaptation, for example. Go if these have not defined the character of the sector of culture and entertainment in our country.

Little by little, carefully, after months of confinement, the long-awaited reunion with the public arrived. After a year of virtual experiences, in 2021 they opted for a progressive presence: attentive to sanitary measures, with capacity at 50%, in theaters and cinema the sighs, murmurs, and applause of a audience that missed the scenic rite. And, of course, we also highlight the accomplices who offered us new shelters: from those independent bookstores, be they traditional or newcomers, who re-powered their delivery service, to the new cafes, bars and restaurants, vital to cope with difficult times. The Luces Prize, which is coming of age in its eighteenth edition, is for them. Now it’s up to the El Comercio reader to review the different categories and vote on our website for their favorite nominees, from today until Sunday, February 13. You decide.
