Robert Pattinson is negotiating a role in Bong Joon Ho’s next film (“Parasite”)

The Batman is still not out but Robert Pattinson is already preparing the sequel! The actor is indeed in negotiations with Warner and the Korean director Bong Joon Ho. According to Deadline, the actor is approached to interpret the leading role in an adaptation of Mickey7, the next novel by Edward Ashton. A sci-fi thriller in which an “Expendable”, a man used to terraform a hostile planet, must hide that he is not really dead so as not to be turned into protein for other humans. The book hasn’t been released yet, but Warner Bros. has already purchased the rights to the adaptation.

After winning an Oscar with Parasite, Bong Joon Ho was spoiled for choice for his next project, and Warner, still according to Deadline, offered him the film based on Edward Ashton’s manuscript. The filmmaker was interested immediately and should even produce the film, via his company Offscreen.

The favors

The project caught the attention of all Hollywood male stars in their thirties late last year, and it was apparently after a date with Bong Joon Ho that Robert Pattinson emerged as the favorite to land the role. Another strong point for the actor: he recently signed a contract with Warner Bros. to submit all his projects to the studio before all the others.

As for The Batman, by Matt Reeves, is scheduled for release on March 4.
