Simu Liu responds to Evangeline Lilly’s anti-vax claims

Simu Liu is tired of the media relaying the antivax opinions of some movie stars. The interpreter of Shang-Chi in the MCU did not directly refer to the comments of his colleague Evangeline Lilly, who recently participated in an anti-vaccination demonstration in Washington DC, but he left no doubt about what he thinks of his statements.

“I lost my grandparents to Covid-19 last year. They were still waiting for their vaccines. I am lucky to have been vaccinated twice and to have received a booster when I had Covid-19 two weeks ago. It was like a cold. The media must stop promoting views that are not based on fact or science,” he posted on Twitter.

Recidivist

Evangeline Lilly was careful not to comment on Simu Liu’s words in turn. It must be said that after her new statements, which she describes for her part as “pro-choice”, the actress provoked a wave of indignation which is not the first. In 2020, already, the ex-star of Lost had been at the heart of a controversy after calling Covid-19 a “respiratory flu” and downplaying its impact. So much so that she was quickly forced to calm things down with an Instagram post in which she regretted having been so “arrogant”.

“My direct and special apologies to those most affected by this pandemic. I never meant to hurt you. When I wrote this post 10 days ago, I thought I was breathing calm into the hysteria. I see now that I was projecting my own fears into an already scary and traumatic situation,” she shared as an apology.
