Soon the return of the mask to transport? Prime Minister Elizabeth Bourne urged caution anyway on Tuesday and issued a “solemn plea” to wear a mask again and respect barrier gestures, especially those with the most frail or “in areas of promiscuity”. She speaks of “decisive steps to contain the epidemic” of Covid-19 as cases start to rise again.
“This new wave reminds us that the virus has not disappeared, the epidemic continues,” the head of government said. In front of MPs, she urged French people to get vaccinated, both against the flu and against Covid-19, and “to be vigilant.”

These new Covid cases come as the bronchiolitis epidemic and the flu are already weakening hospitals. The prime minister specifically mentioned “more than 40,000 cases detected per day, an increase of almost 10% in hospital admissions in one week, a 22% increase in intensive care unit admissions and 400 deaths from Covid last week.”
She insisted on the need for vaccination reminders, which were administered by “only 10% of the target population,” before stating, “Get vaccinated, it protects you, it protects our hospital,” to her fellow citizens. “Our duty is to help our guardians,” she said.
