Is the solo self-test valid? No !

Would a simple sworn certificate and the presentation of a negative self-test for Covid-19 be sufficient to obtain a valid health pass? A reader of 20 Minutes asked the “Fake Off” section to verify an assertion made by Carlo Alberto Brusa, lawyer with conspiratorial tendencies, champion of the antivax and slayer of the “health dictatorship” that the government would have established.

In a video titled “Censorship will not block the law!” »And published on August 17 on the Réaction 19 site – a covid-skeptic association of which he is the head – indicates that the supervision of a health professional during the performance of a self-test is not necessary to obtaining a valid health pass.

“The antigenic self-test can be retained without the supervision of a third party”, he explains, wrongly assuring that the antigenic tests would be much more reliable than the RT-PCR tests, with an efficiency of “99 , 9999…% ”. According to him, the drafting of a “certificate of honor” in addition to the presentation of a negative test would be enough to obtain the health pass. The proof ? A person – anonymous of course – would have, according to him, passed exams in “a large university hospital” thanks to this method.

FAKE OFF

The Directorate General of Health is however very clear about the use of self-tests. These allow you to obtain an “activity” health pass (which does not allow travel) if the test result is negative and if it was carried out under the supervision of a health professional attesting to its validity and the correct use of the device by the patient. The health professionals who can supervise the performance of the test may be doctors, pharmacists, nurses, midwives, dental surgeons or physiotherapists.

In the event of a negative result, the health professional must then enter your data in the SI-DEP file (Screening information system) to then create the QR code which will then act as a health pass. Without a health professional, you will not be able to have access to SI-DEP and therefore will not be able to generate a health pass, contrary to what Carlo Alberto Brusa claims. Information confirmed by the AP-HP services at 20 Minutes, who ensure that the drafting of a “sworn statement” cannot allow entry to the hospital, except in emergency or contraindication.

Until the so-called “comfort” tests are no longer reimbursed by Social Security, the easiest – and least expensive – way to obtain a valid health pass is therefore to carry out an antigen test or free RT-PCR on presentation of a Vitale card, as pointed out by health professionals interviewed by 20 Minutes a few days ago. Note also that some pharmacies, under-staffed, currently only focus on performing antigenic tests, and may refuse to supervise self-tests.
