The region still ahead of immunization

The milestone of three million people who have received at least a first dose of vaccine against Covid-19 has just been crossed in Pays-de-la-Loire, announces the regional health agency (ARS). They are also some 2.7 million to have received their two injections.

The vaccination coverage (two doses) of the entire population (all ages combined) of Pays-de-la-Loire thus reached 76.9%, i.e. five points higher than the national average (71.9%), according to Public Health France. The vaccination coverage of the population eligible for vaccination (over 12 years) even climbs to 89.6%, against 83.7% elsewhere in France. It is in Vendée that the vaccination rate is highest (94.4%) and in Sarthe that it is lowest (85.2%).

The end of the mask at school

To reach the latest latecomers, or even the recalcitrant, the regional health agency (ARS) plans to develop mobile vaccination centers in the coming weeks, by means of buses, in particular in peri-urban areas. A similar process is already underway in the Nantes districts.

As for the epidemic situation, it is very encouraging since the incidence rate of contamination continues to decline to reach 40.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the latest figures from the ARS unveiled Tuesday evening. All the departments, with the exception of Mayenne (50.4), are now below the bar of 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In these departments, the mask should therefore no longer be compulsory at school from next week, in accordance with government announcements.
