“Disease X”: what is this threat shaking the conspiracy sphere?

Just as the Covid pandemic was expected or even planned, the next pandemic will already be called “Disease X”. This seemingly absurd theory is generating a lot of comments on social media, particularly from accounts associated with the conspiracy world. It had been circulating for several months, but was revived thanks to the organization of a roundtable on January 17, 2024 called “Preparing for Disease X” at the World Economic Forum in Davos. This large gathering each year brings together a group of political leaders (including Emmanuel Macron), heads of large companies, billionaires, etc.

Prepare in Davos language means: to arouse fear, to cook mRNA vaccines and related passes! – sovereignist Florian Filippo thundered on… the social network X, formerly Twitter. “Disease X has already been synthesized somewhere and is waiting to spread.” This is stated in the Conspiracy Report..

Some are already linking this to a new, very deadly virus that could be found in pangolins in China, but it is not an unknown virus at all and was simply injected into mice in laboratories. January 19.

“History has taught us that we must anticipate”

“World Health Organization (WHO) disease in November 2022. In short, a virus or bacteria that does not exist and whose characteristics are unknown, but which will appear before spreading on the planet, such as SARS-CoV-2 from the end of 2022.” 2019.

Since 2018, this “disease X” has been included in the WHO list of diseases that may pose a planetary threat. There are other already known pathologies: Covid-19, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever or even Zika virus infections.

The goal stated by the WHO is to prepare from a research and health system perspective, in particular to produce drugs and vaccines faster and to better adapt hospitals if the situation requires it. “History has taught us that we must anticipate new threats. Failure to prepare will lead the world to failure,” its President Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on January 17.
