Spicy peas, a healthy recipe to get us out of trouble

Many times we prepare the same thing because we feel that we do not have time to think of new ideas to prepare some food, it happens to me too and I am a cook. That is why I am sharing with you a new, easy and practical way to cook our delicious split peas. The best thing, as always, is that our children like it and this recipe did it, especially since I had never prepared it before and my daughters love to try new recipes.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 k of peas soaked from the previous day.
  • 2 cups diced red onion
  • 3 garlic cloves minced or finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup of yellow pepper cream, boiled three times without veins or seeds, peeled and blended with vegetable oil. So that it tastes and doesn’t sting.
  • 3 medium white potatoes (peeled and cut into cubes). Cooked in salted water.
  • 150g of fresh cheese in cubes the size of potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of butter at the end, off the heat
  • parsley to decorate

Cook the peas with double the water in a large pot so that it does not overflow when boiling and add more water if required. It is intended that this creamy, medium loose. At the same time, cook the dressing and the potatoes. For the dressing, cook the onion and garlic in a pan with vegetable oil over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes, then add the salt to sweat and lift the dried juices from the pan. Immediately pour the yellow chili cream and continue cooking for 5 to 10 minutes. Add the dressing when the peas are ready and cook for 10 minutes. Off the heat, add the butter and stir until it dissolves. Then add the potatoes and cheese. Serve and decorate with a leaf of parsley or chopped parsley.
