Like in chifa: learn how to prepare pork with pineapple and your own tamarind sauce

Did you know that you can prepare your own tamarind sauce at home? And, even better, if it will be to accompany an impressive dish like pork with pineapple. Yo Madre’s Recipes does not bring the secrets of this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kilo of pork loin
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 200 grams of holantao
  • 1 cup of tamarind sauce
  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup chuño or cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Sesame seeds
  • Vegetable oil

Preparation:

Chop the pork loin meat and season it with pepper and salt to taste; then, bread each piece well using the chuño or cornstarch. Fry the meat in hot oil until it is well browned on both sides. Booking. Prepare your own tamarind sauce by putting 3 tablespoons of ketchup sauce, 3 tablespoons of red vinegar, 6 tablespoons of white sugar and a cup of water over low heat. Let it boil, stirring constantly, and then add a spoonful of chuño dissolved in a little bit of water in the form of a thread, and you will see that it will thicken. Remove from heat and let cool. In a wide frying pan, add a splash of oil and brown the kion for a couple of minutes; then, add the pepper, pineapple and sauté over high heat. About three minutes later you add the pork you had reserved and the tamarind sauce; mix and taste the seasoning. Leave on the fire for about three minutes so that all the flavors are incorporated.

Note: Remember that pork is a lean meat. What does it mean? The fact that some parts of the pig, such as the loin, contain little fat and a lot of muscle fiber, so its protein content is extraordinarily rich, helps to have a healthy and balanced diet. Experts even recommend its consumption 3 to 4 times a week.
