Pop corn cereal bars, a perfect snack for any occasion

Homemade popcorn cereal bars! Easy and fun to prepare, perfect for lunch boxes or snacks for children and adults. They last all week refrigerated, although I don’t think they will arrive.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of popcorn popcorn
  • 1.5 cup rolled oats (I use whole grain)
  • ½ cup of toasted and chopped nuts (can be almonds, peanuts, walnuts, pecans, …)
  • ½ cup of dried fruits (they can be raisins, dried apricots, cherries, blueberries, cherries, …)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt (conditional, only if the nuts and peanut butter are unsalted)
  • ½ cup of honey
  • 2/3 cup of peanut butter (or butter from another nut such as almonds, chestnuts, …)

Preparation:

Place the court in a thick bag type ziploc or the bag they have and crush it so that there are no large pieces. They can do it with the help of a rolling pin, giving light blows so that it is half ground. They can also crush it with their hands in a bowl. Then place the little court popcorn in a bowl large, along with oats, nuts, dried fruits, cinnamon and salt and incorporate the ingredients well, set aside. In a nonstick saucepan, put the peanut butter and honey and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly for a couple of minutes to combine the ingredients well. Add this mixture to bowl with the little court mix popcorn and join with the help of a large spoonful to smear all the ingredients. Then place the mixture of cereal bars in a pyrex 20 x 20 cm approximately, with anti-grease paper, (you can put a few drops of oil on the pyrex for the paper to adhere). Crush the mixture with wet hands so that it does not stick to your hands (drinkable water). It must be well pressed, you can use a pestle to give small blows and help yourself. Cover it with greaseproof paper and let it rest refrigerated for a couple of hours. Unmold and then cut the bars into rectangles and place them in a container with a lid. You can use butter paper to divide them and they don’t stick.

Tip: they can do it in individual round molds. You can use sweets and do the same procedure with anti-grease and pressed paper.
