Ché Chá: what is it like and what does the new venue in this paradise for brunch lovers offer?

“The idea (of Ché Chá) was born in 2018. At that time, together with my partners, we wanted to have something of our own and we always think of creating something interesting. Analyzing, we saw that in the world of tea there was -and there is- an enormous opportunity and that is that tea is the second most consumed drink after water”, Federico Travezzino, general manager of the restaurant, explains to Provecho.

For the team, tea was always served in a rather classic way, but they wanted to come up with something different, much more coolcontemporary and irreverent, according to Travezzino.

They opened their doors in December 2019 and, as is well known, the quarantine due to the pandemic was established in March 2020. “As happened to most, there was a reconstruction of the brand to survive and honestly that was key to restructure Ché Chá and it helped us a lot”, adds the manager.

Although the forte of this space is brunch and infusions (which can be enjoyed cold, hot or in signature cocktails), its menu seeks not to be limited to a certain time of day. For this reason, they have other sections in which they offer entries such as tuna carpaccio or cebiche; backgrounds such as lomo saltado or tempura aubergines; appetizers such as wings or a cheese board and pasta such as gnocchi or mushroom risotto.

A plus that adds to the experience is that they have vegetarian and gluten-free (or gluten-free) options, which are indicated on the menu itself.

A feast of color and flavor

Che Chá offers, without a doubt, one of the most complete menus when it comes to breakfast, brunch and even lunch. We can find everything from the classic American version of breakfast with scrambled eggs with ham, toast, coffee and juice, to modern fruit bowls.

Among the dishes we tried we want to highlight the Tropical Bowlwhich consists of a creamy tropical fruit topped with toppings such as banana, strawberries, pineapple, blueberries, desiccated coconut, granola, and honey. The combination is fresh and perfect to start the day, with the precise point of sweet and sour thanks to the high-quality fruits.

You can also find toasts and the chai is our favourite. It is a version of the classic avocado, tomato and egg triple, but with elevated touches such as poached egg, avocado in two textures and a touch of dehydrated olives.

The sandwiches are jewels that we also want to rescue and one that stands out is the assholewhich is a brioche bread stuffed with scrambled eggs with jerky, avocado, fresh cheese and house sauce.

Chai toast.

And, as always, sweets cannot be missing from the experience. They offer the classic pancakes, French toast and waffles, all very rich and with precise accompaniments. Our favorite is the banana toast. It is a brioche bread soaked and served with rum flambéed bananas, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream.

if we talk about infusions It is worth emphasizing that in this restaurant there is traceability of the ingredients used in their blends. In addition, they can be served hot, cold and even in cocktails known in the restaurant as tonics. One of the blends that we recommend is the herbal with lemon balm, lemon verbena, muña, lime and Peruvian cardamom. Among the cold options, we really liked the floraltea, a blend of jasmine and chamomile, lemon and simple syrup. If you bet on one of their tonics, the chai tonic is ideal: pisco infused in tea, orange and blossom tonic water.

Che Cha it’s the kind of space that lends itself to any occasion, from a birthday celebration with friends to breakfast with the family. They have varied, delicious options and in which the attention to detail of their team is noticeable.
