The Copacabana Palace turns 100 years old and ‘moves’ to Lima with this gastronomic proposal

In front of Copacabana beach, an emblematic place of Rio de Janeiro: the Copacabana Palace. One hundred years have passed since the doors of the venue were opened, which has even inspired a film, and that is why the Belmond brand has prepared a special week in which the hotel will ‘move’ through its gastronomy to Lima.

The celebration will begin on Friday, September 29, with the arrival in Peru of Nello Casesse, chef of the Cipriani restaurant, located in the Copacabana Palace and which has a Michelin star.

Casesse, together with the Peruvian Ricardo Ehni, chef of Tragaluz, will co-create a 7-course pairing dinner.

The second date will be on Saturday, September 30, and the traditional Feijoada Do Copa will take place, combining the unmistakable samba with a station of savory options, feijoada, a buffet of typical Brazilian desserts and a bar of caipirinhas and beers in the The Observatory restaurant, located on the hotel’s rooftop.

On October 1, again at The Observatory, the ‘Brunch do Copa’ will be held with a salad station, full buffet, typical Brazilian desserts and a cocktail bar, caipirinhas and sparkling wines.
