Grains like quinoakiwicha and cañihua have once again taken a privileged place on the Peruvian table, in addition to gaining an important place on the tables of the world, thanks to their high nutritional value and versatility in preparations.

In order to give more visibility and revalue these Peruvian cereals, this weekend the fair “Sale con Pan y su Dessert” will be held in San Borja.

In it, the public will find quinoa-based desserts. For example, a traditional King Kong, but made of quinoa, whose flavor promises to demonstrate that surprise touch that the Peruvian grain offers.

Quinoa alfajores will also be offered, filled with quinoa delicacy, a product that promises to be one of the great novelties of this fair. Also, attendees will be able to try a creamy quinoa flipped cream, quinoa breads, quinoa picarones, among other recipes with this nutritious cereal.

But not everything will be made from quinoa. On the menu there are traditional sweets such as glitter chancay pudding, chocolate cake, golden ball, tocino del cielo, ranfañote, suspiro a la limeña, sanguito, leche asada, artisanal cakes based on blueberries, Chincha sweets, tiles of blood, strained beans. Likewise, the picarones of mashua, carrot, beet and more delicacies.

Nuts such as pecans, almonds, cashews, pistachios, raisins, guindons, hazelnuts, dehydrated aguaymanto, as well as peanut snacks, chia, sesame, are among the varied offerings of the fair.

In addition, you will find extra beans, corn from Cusco and drinks for a nutritious breakfast based on sunflower seeds, Jamaica Flower, turmeric, pumpkin, among others.

A great attraction for attendees will be the offer of exquisite breads from all regions of Peru such as; kiwicha bread, cañihua bread, accompanied by the delicious cheeses and hams of Cajamarca.

Finally, the fair will also have the sale of organic coffee, which can be accompanied by savory dishes such as artisanal pizzas. For those who want more refreshing drinks, there will be brightened, strawberry or passion fruit chicha de jora.

When and where?

The fair “Sale con Pan y su Dessert” will be held from Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 1 at the Alameda de la Peruanidad, located at the intersection of Av. San Borja Norte and Av. Aviación from 9:00 a.m. am until 8:00 pm

Admission is free.
