Anacapri: the history of the gelateria that transports you to Italy

The history

Almost 30 years ago, Melissa, Chiara and Renzo’s parents had an ice cream shop in the south of Peru, but due to the situation in the country at that time they had to close it and emigrate to Spain. The dream of opening a space that offered artisanal gelato in Peru was always in the air, and it was thanks to a family trip they took some time ago that these three brothers decided to create a cozy place, full of creativity and flavor where Ice creams are sold with the true Italian flavor and recipe.

In 2021, we began to seriously plan what this project would be like”says Melissa. For his part, Renzo remembers that on a family trip they went to southern Italy and ““I loved the aesthetics and the ice creams.” “So we wanted to set it that way. I think we have more or less achieved it.or,” he adds.

Each brother has a different role but they complement each other. All three have learned to create gelatos from scratch. They take great care that everything is made with fresh fruits, without additives or preservatives or flavorings. Chiara indicates that they prepare sorbettos and gelatos that they would have liked to find elsewhere, that is why they try to make them healthy, with pure fruit.

In addition to having several flavors and a nice atmosphere, Melissa explains that for them it is very important that customers have a good experience when purchasing ice cream, which is why the attention they give to diners is very careful, so much so that she feels that He has created a connection with customers and can feel their affection for Anacapri.

The flavors

The gelateria has fruit sorbettos that are mostly made by Chiara, who says she loves them and they are her favorites. These are composed of pure fruit without additives or dairy. They are perfect for those who want to cool off and are vegan or lactose intolerant.

There is one sorbetto in particular that attracts a lot of attention and it is the Anacapri Lemonade, created by Melissa, which contains fresh blueberries, lemon and some other secret. It is a beautiful magenta color, which when you see it makes you organize it. Melissa says that she is brought to that tone thanks to the combination of blueberries with lemon and seeing that transformation from the purple of the blueberries to a magenta tone is a celebration.

“We have 24 flavors in each location, and we are also rotating them because we have so many that we rotate and see which ones ask us for the most”adds Melissa.

Other gelato flavors are inspired by desserts such as Lemon Pie and Chocoteja. In addition, they have four varieties of chocolate, and traditional Italian gelatos such as Pistacchio, Zabaione, Amarena Amaretti, Gianduia and many more.

In addition, Renzo indicates that they have special flavors for festive dates. For example, during December they had the “Panettone for Christmas” and in October they had one flavored with Doña Pepa’s Turrón, demonstrating their commitment to creativity and innovation.

For those who wish to enjoy delicious gelatos in the comfort of their homes, Anacapri Gelateria offers delivery service.

Chiara explains that they seek to provide their clients with a great experience. “TWe also like them to try all the flavors they want, so that no one feels uncomfortable or embarrassed asking to try a flavor. “We don’t want them to be left with the desire to try,” Add.

For these brothers it is very important that diners know that there are more flavors beyond the traditional ones and that they get to know them, try them and convince themselves that everything can be made ice cream, from a dessert, from an idea, from a mixture that apparently could be expensive Renzo has made loche squash ice creams and a salty one that went very well with salads. Creativity and ingenuity to spare.

The new premises

The Anacapri tradition reaches the south of Lima and two locations will open, one in Punta Hermosa and the other in Asia. According to what the brothers say, they continue with the same decoration that diners fell in love with in Miraflores. They have the same aesthetics, flavor and generosity in each ice cream.

These new stores will also offer options for all tastes, including lactose-free sorbettos (suitable for vegans) and sugar-free versions, sweetened with stevia, as well as lollipops for our pets. Yes, our dogs can also enjoy something fresh when we go to the beach.
