Peru and its gastronomy will once again be at the center of the table in June, thanks to the fact that that month the meeting of the International Council of the Basque Culinary Center will be held, which brings together the most recognized chefs worldwide. Under the motto “T’impuy”, they will meet in a “special meeting to shake up the debate about what we cook, eat and the impact of everything that revolves around it”, as they describe in their Web page.

Among the personalities who will be part of the event are Joan Roca (Spain), Mauro Colagreco (Argentina / France), Yoshihiro Marisawa (Japan) and Elena Reygadas (Mexico), among others.
The hosts of this event will be Gastón Acurio and Pía León, two important representatives of Peruvian gastronomy thanks to their proposals at the Astrid and Gastón and Kjolle restaurants, respectively. In addition, both chefs are part of the Council.
In the fourteenth edition of this meeting, in addition to talks and meetings, activities will be carried out such as the election of the winner of the Basque Culinary World Prize 2024 and the updating of the “Letter to the chefs of tomorrow”, launched in 2011.

The event will be distributed between Cusco and Lima, with June 19 being the date on which the auditorium of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) will be visited. This meeting “will serve to rethink the reflections that those chefs supported in 2011, and face the future of the sector by insisting on the ubiquity of gastronomy and reconnecting with current demands,” they add on the website.
