Residencial San Felipe: 5 proposals that you should try if you are passing through Jesús María

One of my favorite places in summer is Residencial San Felipe. Its tall, leafy trees protect you from the heat and refresh you, the benches are perfect for resting and, of course, the gastronomic offer is varied and you can always find something to satisfy your craving. Advantage presents a second gastronomic route through this classic space in Jesús María: from delicious salchipapas to a specialty cafeteria with Amazonian touches.

Katana

The best of the most traditional Japanese culture and its fusion with Peruvian culture is what Katana offers, the restaurant located inside the Peruvian Japanese Cultural Center. Their menu includes fresh cuts of sashini, nigiri sushi, hosomaki and the well-known and beloved maki rolls. Among the favorites are the acevichado, the kani maki (with trout and crab pulp) and the tokyo maki (with breaded fish and flambéed salmon). They also offer snacks such as gyozas, ceviches and tiraditos, obentos, which are small portions of different bites that make up a hearty and varied lunch or meal.

It is located at Av. Gregorio Escobedo 803, Jesús María (CC Peruano Japonés). They are open Monday to Friday, from 1 pm to 9:30 pm and Saturdays and Sundays, from noon.

Casimir

For those craving it, Casimiro is a perfect option with a complete menu of classic and truly filling dishes, perfect for sharing (or not). Here you will find everything from a wide variety of salchipapas, chicken broth -yes, even in summer there are those who enjoy it-, tacos, enchiladas, Creole dishes and much more. A favorite is the chicken broaster with fries, as well as the burgers and stir-fried noodles.

It is located in the San Felipe CC. They are open from Monday to Sunday, from 8 am to midnight.

The Vegan Chinese

Nominated for the Somos 2023 Awards, El Chino Vegano is a space created by Ángel Vera dedicated to tasty vegan food. Heir to good seasoning and love for cooking, Vera is inspired by home cooking to create a menu full of comfort food of 100% vegetable origin. In the restaurant we can find everything from non-lomo tequeños to vegan causa marina, with mushroom tartare. You can’t miss trying the fish sandwich, ají de gallina and the house-made jaela, all without animal products. The evening menu offers fast food such as hamburgers, hearty sandwiches and champipapas.

The cranberry

Created by Sara Abu-Sabbah, this healthy food restaurant offers a wide variety at its locations in Miraflores and Jesús María. In a pet friendly space they offer us an interesting menu perfect for different times of the day. From hearty breakfasts with omelets or eggs Benedict, to vegetarian sandwiches or with meats such as hamburgers or roast beef. They also offer snacks, salads, pastas, main dishes and healthy pizzas, with artisanal vegan dough. You can’t miss their desserts without added or reduced sugar. The blueberry cheesecake and the lactose-free chocolate cake stand out.
