The Creole tradition is maintained: meet the 10 best restaurants according to the Somos Awards

Saltados, stews, ceviches and more are part of the extensive menu found in Creole food restaurants. The one that is so popular on Peruvian tables and that has now also expanded to the world. In Chile, Argentina and Colombia, dishes such as lomo saltado are highly requested. In the first edition of the Somos Awards, more than 25 thousand people voted for their favorite restaurants in more than 40 categories. The winning restaurant of the first edition of the Somos Awards was: Panchita.

Panchita has a tasty menu that pays tribute to Creole and familiar flavors. Whether with her carapulcra, ají de gallina, anticuchos, dry or olluquito, Panchita takes us back to the past, to the smells of mom’s and grandma’s kitchen. Currently, it has two locations in Lima, but this Peruvian restaurant has managed to conquer Chilean palates by bringing the Creole jarana, with cajon and guitar, to the south of the continent.

With the experience of chef Miguel Intiquilla, his respect for Lima and regional recipes, and the research behind his dishes, the concept of this emblematic restaurant for the city was built.
