Who from Marine Le Pen or Emmanuel Macron is in the lead for the second round?

Since Sunday 8 p.m., we have known the two finalists to become the future President of the Republic. Jean-Luc Mélenchon ranks third with 21.95% of the vote.

A gap that has been closing since March

While the gap between the two finalists was relatively stable until March 2022, Emmanuel Macron’s lead over Marine Le Pen has melted since mid-March. On March 14, 2022, the outgoing president had an average of 58% voting intentions in his favor in the event of a duel in the second round against the candidate of the National Rally. On the eve of the first round, he only had a three-point lead (51.5%) according to Harris-Interactiveand two points (51%) according to Ifop-Fiducial.

Following the first round and the various voting instructions given by the candidates eliminated from the presidential race, the trend seems to be slightly reversing and Emmanuel Macron regains some ground against Marine Le Pen.
