Eric Dupond-Moretti taken to task by a far-right S file

Insults but no threats. Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti was attacked late Monday afternoon during a trip to Ermont (Val-d’Oise) by a far-right S file, who was arrested, a police source told AFP.

During a stroll near the station of this town located north of Paris around 6:30 p.m., “an individual insulted him. He was dismissed by the security service and arrested by the Val-d’Oise police who were not far,” said this police source, confirming information from BFMTV.

The individual, whose age has not been specified, shouted insults at the Keeper of the Seals as a “crook of justice”, without however uttering direct threats, explained this source.

Arrested, the man was found carrying a “small Swiss army knife” which he did not however exhibit and which he did not use. He was taken into custody at the Ermont police station.
