President of the National Assembly, Richard Ferrand heckled in Finistère

The President of the National Assembly will tremble. Faithful lieutenant of Emmanuel Macron, Richard Ferrand was easily elected deputy in 2017 when he presented himself under the label of La République en Marche. Five years later, the case looks tougher for the former Minister of Social Cohesion. This Sunday, Richard Ferrand is credited with 33.6% of the votes in the first round of the legislative elections. Opposed to the right five years ago, the deputy for the 6th constituency of Finistère will face his former camp next Sunday and will face Mélanie Thomin in the second round on Sunday June 19. The socialist candidate, invested by Nupes, came second with 30.1%.

Behind, it is the candidate of the National Rally Patrick Le Fur who ranks third with 14.5% of the vote. Like him, the right-wing candidate Gaëlle Nicolas was eliminated with 10.7% of the vote.

Elsewhere in the department of Finistère, the duels should also oppose the presidential majority to the alliance of the left of Nupes. In the 1st constituency (Brest), it is the candidate Nupes Pierre-Yves Cadalen who is well ahead with 31.9% of the vote. He takes advantage of the division of candidates claiming to be part of the presidential majority. Officially invested by LREM, Marc Coatanea is eliminated. It is the outgoing deputy Jean-Charles Larsonneur, a former member of the movement but who had not received the nomination, who will be in the second round.

Nupes and LREM duels everywhere

In the 8th constituency (Concarneau), the second round will oppose incumbent Erwan Balanant and Nupes candidate Youenn Le Flao. The candidate of the presidential majority came first with 34.87% of the vote against 31.66% for the union list of the left. The National Rally of Christian Pérez comes third with 16.1%.

In the 1st constituency (Quimper), the outgoing deputy of the presidential majority Annaïg Le Meur is in a very favorable ballot with 37.2% of the vote, far ahead of the candidate Nupes Grégory Lebert, credited with 27.9% and qualified for the second. round. In the 3rd constituency (Landerneau), the presidential majority candidate Didier Le Gac crushes the competition with 44.7%. He will be opposed to Pierre Smolarz, from Nupes, who obtained 26.3%.

In the 4th constituency (Morlaix), Sandrine Le Feur will defend her seat as MP against Sylvaine Vulpiani, member of Nupes, who came second with 30.9% of the vote, behind the candidate of Ensemble (34.8%). Same observation in the 5th district (Landivisiau) where the candidate of the presidential majority Graziella Melchior comes first with 31.3% ahead of Nathalie Sarrabezolles (Nupes with 29%). The score is even tighter in the 7th district (Douarnenez) where only 300 votes separate Liliana Tanguy (Ensemble) from the candidate of the union of the left Yolande Bouin who both exceed the 30% mark.
