The agglomeration of Montluçon launches several measures

Faced with rising energy prices, the town of Montluçon (Allier) and its urban community are getting organized. An energy sobriety plan was thus presented on Tuesday. Objective: to reduce the consumption of the community by up to 10%, reports The mountain.

Because the bills could increase by 700,000 euros for 2022 and 1.3 million euros for 2023. If the measures announced do not fully cover these increases, they could make it possible to save between 200,000 and 300,000 euros, according to the mayor.

Lighting, heating or fuel affected

Several items of expenditure are concerned: lighting, heating or even fuel. Thus, the travel of municipal and community teams will be streamlined. If savings had already been made for public lighting, efforts will be continued with, for example, a reduction of thirty-two minutes per day, or even the shutdown of lighting in certain places. The temperature should also be reduced, depending on hours and uses.

Two areas are planned by the community: awareness of eco-gestures for the public and community agents; but also user accountability.
