Bullfighting ban: Aymeric Caron criticizes “parliamentary obstruction” and withdraws his text

The debate will remain outside the half-cycle. Faced with a ‘bump’, LFI deputy for Paris, Aymeric Caron, announced this Thursday afternoon the withdrawal of his text calling for a ban on bullfighting. More than 800 amendments were made that would have sparked long hours of debate on this text, without being able to tackle other texts envisaged in the recalcitrant France’s parliamentary niche program, and in particular the reintegration of unvaccinated caregivers.

“What is happening today is not the end, it is only the beginning,” Eymeric Caron told Hemicycle, announcing the filing of the cross-party law. “Corrida will soon be canceled in this country, I promise you that,” he continued.

“Faced with obstacles from Parliament, more than 800 amendments making it impossible to vote before midnight, we are withdrawing our law to abolish bullfighting,” the LFI group in the National Assembly confirmed on Twitter.
