On Tuesday, the headquarters of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in Lyon was raided as part of an investigation by the National Fiscal Prosecution (PNF) into an expensive dinner hosted in the summer of 2022 by Laurent Vauquier, a-t- we learned from reliable sources.
According to the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Lithuania of the region, this search was carried out in the premises of the community in the absence of Laurent Vokie. For its part, the FNF confirmed that the searches were carried out as part of a preliminary investigation launched in December “into favoritism, concealment of favoritism, and embezzlement of public funds” following Mediapart’s revelations about the dinner and a report by the region’s EELV group in October.
According to Mediapart newspaper, Laurent Vauquies would have hosted a sumptuous dinner at the Château de la Chaise in Odenas-on-Rhone on June 23 at the expense of his region’s council and would have called it a “dinner of the heights”. An evening that would cost 100,000 euros in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region to invite 90 people – or 1,100 euros per guest.
