Pensions: the Lyot group filed a text on the abolition of the reform

He announced it on Tuesday in the columns of Le Parisien – Today in France: The Lyot group was about to submit a bill (PPL) to repeal the pension reform. It’s done today. The text, released on Thursday, contains an indictment against the way the government conducts debates. “The reform was promulgated without putting the text to a vote in the National Assembly, and this despite the commitment of the government,” it says.

With this PPL, Bertrand Pancher, President of the Lyott group in the Assembly, wishes to “reach the end of the democratic path”. Progress was thwarted by “the government’s decision to push through this reform through the Welfare Funding Change Bill and resort to Article 47-1,” which limits the duration of the debate. And by “reference to paragraph 3 of Article 49”. Two procedures that prevented “clear and sincere debate”.

There are two articles in the text. The first removes the transfer of the retirement age to 64 years: it cancels the famous Article 7 and cancels the acceleration of the increase in the insurance period. The second aims to organize a “financial conference to ensure the sustainability of our pension system.” And also “real advice on pensions in general.”

This PPL will be supported by 151 Nupes deputies. Thus, the president of the socialist group, Boris Vallo, welcomed the initiative: “See you on June 8 at the half cycle, the fight continues,” he tweeted. The same story from the RN side, where MP Sebastien Chenu has already stated that he is ready to support “everything that can defeat this pension reform.”

But before discussing the text at the meeting, there is one step left: the decision of the Constitutional Council of May 3 on the second demand for a referendum on a common initiative (RIU). If the judges confirm this, will Lyot withdraw his text? Bertrand Pancher hesitates: “We will give advice on Wednesday 26 at our next group meeting. »
