Marianna Foundation: The National Financial Prosecutor’s Office opens a judicial investigation

After the dispute is the place for justice. The National Financial Attorney’s Office (NFP) launched a judicial investigation into the use of Marianne’s fund. Founded in 2021 by Marlene Schiappa to fight separatism after the assassination of Samuel Paty, the use of subsidies allocated to the two associations is particularly controversial.

The legal investigation launched by the PNF is linked, among other things, to suspicions of embezzlement of public funds, breach of trust and illegal receipt of income, as was disclosed by France Inter earlier this Thursday. Therefore, the investigating judge will now consider the management of these subsidies, which should help promote the values of the Republic.

Committee of Inquiry in the Senate

According to a joint survey conducted by Marianne and France 2 magazine at the end of March, the main beneficiary of the funds (an association called USEPPM) of up to 355,000 euros could only feed a website and publications with very few subscribers. in social networks About 120,000 euros were used to pay two of its ex-leaders.

According to Mediapart, several leftists, including Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, have been vilified in certain content distributed by these entities. Marlene Schiappa called the allegations “defamation” and filed a “defamation” complaint.

The Senate Finance Committee unanimously demanded that senators vote next week for a commission to investigate the Marianne Foundation. “The government will, of course, respond with full transparency,” Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin told deputies on Tuesday.
