Housing crisis: despite Attal’s prescribed supply shock, professionals are still very upset

Repeatedly. Six years after Emmanuel Macron, Gabriel Attal on Tuesday called for a new “supply shock” in his general political speech to “unlock” the crisis-ridden property market. Before the National Assembly, the Prime Minister listed his five key measures, the “five immediate solutions”, which he intends to vigorously implement with elected officials to revive the sector.

The rest after this announcement

The first concerns a topic close to the Prime Minister’s heart: simplification. “We are going to significantly simplify the standards: revise the DPE, simplify access to MaPrimeRénov, facilitate compaction, remove zoning restrictions, speed up procedures,” he assured. Second line of work: Gabriel Attal wants to stimulate the construction of more social housing. How ? By providing more assistance to mayors, in particular “for the first distribution of new housing built in their municipality.” This new leeway should push them to build more to meet the demand and housing needs of their constituents.
