A large crowd is expected at the National Assembly. After interviewing employees of TF 1 and M 6, the commission of inquiry into the distribution of television frequencies will consider the case of CNews, whose TNT channel will be put into operation again in 2025, this Thursday from 11 am. With the decision of the Council of State to respect pluralism, the channel of the Canal+ group is also, as of this week, at risk of a sanctions procedure by the audiovisual regulator Arcom. We are talking about broadcasting an episode in which abortion is presented as the leading cause of death in the world. The broadcaster has already apologized.
It is in this tense context that its eight representatives will appear before the twenty parliamentarians from all parties who make up the working group, including Aymeric Caron. “In recent years, CNews has received about twenty calls to order. We will ask ourselves why it so regularly fails to comply with its obligations,” sums up his LFI colleague Aurélien Sentul, who was at the forefront of the creation of this commission of inquiry, on which he is also a rapporteur.
