“We must fight”: in the Council of Ministers, Emmanuel Macron strengthens his troops with an eye on the European elections

The fight continues. A few days after the National Rally entered the European race, this Wednesday in the Council of Ministers Emmanuel Macron also wanted to motivate his troops.

The head of state asked the ministers to show full dedication and professionalism in these elections. The launch of the majority campaign will take place this Saturday in Lille. Emmanuel Macron asked his troops to mobilize during a meeting this weekend.

“You must fight, step by step,” said, according to our information, the President of the Republic to his ministers. “In these elections everything is simple: those who believe in Europe and those who do not believe in it. We believe this will continue to make a difference,” he continued, referring to Aragon.

“Keep nationalism out”

Emmanuel Macron also returned to the National Rally campaign, which launched last weekend in Marseille. “Don’t let nationalism in. It was already a war, and now they have been defeated by Russia,” he said, this time referring to a speech given by Francois Mitterrand in 1995 to the European Parliament.

The President also welcomed the government’s consistency since January and the fact that in the face of crises the government has “maintained its compass.” European elections will take place on June 6 and 9.
