MP Aymeric Caron wants to broadcast footage of the war in the Gaza Strip to the National Assembly

Since the beginning of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, images have become one of the muscles of the war. Including in France, where some volunteer deputies were able to watch a film about the terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas on October 7. It was November 14th: for almost three-quarters of an hour they watched this collection of raw images in the projection room of the Palais-Bourbon without comment. 120 deputies of the France-Israel friendship group were invited to this event.

According to our information, Member of Parliament Aymeric Caron, associated with the LFI group, wants to repeat the same type of operation, this time to broadcast footage of the war in the Gaza Strip. The former journalist has been collecting images of “atrocities” for months on his social networks or through his own sources in the Gaza Strip.

Three weeks ago, a team of Arabic-speaking volunteers he contacts began doing their own editing, mostly collecting images from social media. “I would like the edit to be forty minutes long, to be journalistically pristine, to date and source every image,” Aymeric Caron, who attended a broadcast of a film about the October 7 massacre, told us recently.

“This is information”

After viewing these images, the MP, who, unlike the LFI leadership, did not hesitate to classify Hamas’s actions as “terrorist,” came up with this initiative so that “in the same way, images of Israeli army atrocities are broadcast. He has not yet discussed it with his parliamentary group, but he mentioned it to the president of the France-Palestine research group, of which he is a member, Modem MP Richard Ramos, so that he could organize a broadcast.

Listening to him, the latter “hesitates.” Is he afraid of seeing this initiative as a “victim competition” operation? “This is information,” retorts Aymeric Caron, who promises, even without the participation of the research group, to organize the distribution himself.
