The searches took place on Wednesday at Le Havre’s town hall and at the city’s community headquarters as part of an investigation by the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office (PNF) launched in December 2023 and targeting in particular former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, AFP reported from Judicial sources close to to the point.
The investigation was launched following a complaint and concerns suspicions of “misappropriation of interests, favoritism, embezzlement of public funds and moral persecution,” a judicial source confirmed to Le Monde.
According to World, the investigation will also include the deputy mayor of Le Havre in charge of innovation and digital technologies, Stephanie de Basler, as well as the director general of the city’s public services, Claire-Sophie Tobias.
