Paris: Bruno Le Maire crashes into a cyclist after running a red light

The accident apparently occurred shortly after he left the ministry. Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire’s car hit a cyclist in Paris on Friday evening after he ran a red light, AFP reported from two sources: one from the police and the other from the minister’s entourage.

Bruno Le Maire was driving his personal car after leaving the ministry when “at an intersection in the 6th arrondissement shortly after 19:30, he collided with a cyclist who had crossed a red light,” explained a source close to the minister. .

The cyclist, who suffered a blow to the brow and a possible head injury, was evacuated by firefighters to a Kochi hospital, a police source said, adding that the accident took place on Bonaparte Street around 7:40 p.m. According to our information, it was in relatively poor condition. For his part, Bruno Le Maire was not injured as a result of the accident, his entourage reported.

“Like any citizen in such a case, he answered the police’s questions and took an alcohol test on the spot. He also passed a drug test. And both tests were negative,” the source told AFP.
