It’s a new twist. The deputy of the Gironde, Benoit Simian, has just received a summons to appear before the Criminal Court of Bordeaux for alleged facts of “harassment” on his wife, according to information from
Mediapart. The hearing is scheduled for March 24. The Bordeaux prosecutor’s office had opened an investigation “for moral harassment by spouse” in 2020, against the background of the divorce of the Simian spouses.

At the time, the courts had also requested the lifting of this parliamentary immunity to hear the former deputy LREM, now affiliated to the parliamentary group Freedoms and Territories, under police custody. He always denied the facts

The deputy for Gironde is notably accused of having defied an order to protect his wife. The former mayor of Ludon-Médoc would also have multiplied malicious acts against his wife, according to the latter. “He tagged the mailbox, stole the trash, smashed cameras.
