Will it come to Argentine soccer? Christian Cueva sounds again as a possible signing of Boca Juniors

The name of the Peruvian midfielder reappears in the Argentine media. Christian Cueva would again be in the sights of Boca Juniors, after the possible arrival of Ángel Romero was ruled out.

In accordance with TyC Sports, the Paraguayan midfielder would be closer to reaching Mexico than Argentina, after learning that the negotiations with Cruz Azul are on the right track (a higher salary and a one-year contract). This has led the Argentine club’s Football Council to once again review the CVs of more players, including the Peruvian, who could be a teammate of Carlos Zambrano and Luis Advíncula in the first part of the year.

Although ‘Aladino’ was on the radar of the ‘Xeneize’ cast, during last season, his transfer did not happen. Now, with an uncertain outlook due to the fall of Romero’s pass, Cueva is once again a viable alternative, especially because he is liked by Juan Román Riquelme, a member of the club’s Football Council.

Christian Cueva has maintained his usual role with the Peruvian National Team, especially in these Qualifiers. To date, he has accumulated five goals and three assists, the last one in the match against Colombia in Barranquilla, the same one that allowed Edison Flores to score the winning goal for the Whites.

This, added to his delight in the blue-gold ensemble, makes him a very valuable player: “I am a fan of Alianza, but I always liked Boca a lot. I think they are very similar teams, very similar, from town. And one is defined by that side. I like teams like that. I always followed Boca, always. It is a team that I like, I sympathize a lot”.

Of course, for the duel that Peru will have against Ecuador tonight, Cueva will not be able to play, due to the accumulation of yellow cards. Despite this, for the remaining games against Uruguay in Montevideo and Paraguay in Lima, the midfielder will be able to give his all.
