The pass market closed in Italy and in most European countries. This prevented Gianluca Lapadula, for example, from signing for a Serie A team. However, all doors are not closed for the striker: one could open for him in Brazilian football.

This Tuesday afternoon, at the time of the clash between Peru and Ecuador, for the 16th day of the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers, the journalist Nicolo Schira, a self-styled expert on the subject of transfers, pointed out that Palmeiras, current two-time champion of the Copa Libertadores, has thought of Lapadula as reinforcement.

“Palmeiras, has shown interest in signing Gianluca Lapadula, who could leave Benevento”, indicated the communication professional in a publication on Twitter.

The Italian-Peruvian attacker has a contract with Benevento until mid-2023 and the current situation is not one of the best with the Italian squad that is fighting for promotion. In fact, the ‘Bambino’ has not had any activity at the club level since December last year.

The short circuit began at the beginning of January, after the coach Fabio Caserta said that the athlete had no intention of playing in Benevento anymore.

“Lapadula will not be called up because the footballer, after the holidays, told me that he does not want to continue playing at Benevento. I repeated the question to him a few days later and he told me that he preferred not to go out on the field against Monza ”, Caserta said a few weeks ago.

For now, Gianluca Lapadula, waiting to define his future, is concentrating for another day with the ‘Blanquirroja’, who will seek to take a further step towards qualifying for the World Cup against Ecuador.
