The expectations for the PSG vs. Real Madrid are high and it is expected that all the stars can be present. Given this, Mauricio Pochettino said this Saturday that next week will be “decisive” to find out if both the Brazilian Neymar and the Spanish Sergio Ramos manage to recover from their respective injuries in time for the round of 16 of the Champions League.

“The evolution is being favourable, we are happy, but we will see next week, which will be decisive to know what the percentage of chances of being involved in a game like Real Madrid is”, Pochettino said at a press conference, shortly after the duel against Lille.

The Paris Saint-Germain coach preferred not to talk much about Ramos’ improvement: “With Sergio we also have to see the evolution of his problem and we will see if he is available or not with the group”. In the medical part of this Saturday, PSG reported that both are still undergoing treatment with a few days to go before the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Real Madrid.

The 36-year-old Spaniard is recovering from an injury to “low gravity” in his right leg, while Neymar does so from a torn ankle ligament that occurred in November.

“Sergio Ramos worked in the gym and will resume his career work in the middle of next week,” points out the PSG medical report, without further detailing. The Spanish international has suffered an ordeal of injuries for more than a year.

“Neymar has received a therapeutic complement today, which will take him to work in the gym for 48 hours before partially resuming the routine with his teammates”, added the Parisian club, without giving any kind of deadline for his return to the courts.
