Nîmes Olympique requests the dissolution of the Gladiators, an association of ultra supporters

The Nîmes Olympique said, Monday evening, its intention to file a complaint against the Gladiator Nîmes supporters association, after events that occurred on Saturday during the match against Dunkirk (0-1). “Some of its members (…) uttered aggravated public insults towards the president of the club [Rani Assaf]. They again introduced and used pyrotechnic devices” at the stadium, accuses the club.

“In front of a family audience dumbfounded by these new provocations, insulting, xenophobic, homophobic and unacceptable songs, (…) the management of the club, which does not lack convincing elements, will file a complaint against the association and the individuals identified”, continues the Gard club, in a press release published Monday evening on its site.

In open war

The Nîmes Olympique, which evokes “distressing behavior”, also intends “to take the necessary steps with the competent authorities in order to dissolve the Gladiators Nîmes association, the behavior and attitude of its members being manifestly contrary to its purpose and seriously harming to the interests of the club.

Requested by 20 minutes, the association has not yet reacted. On Twitter, she simply said, Monday evening, after the publication of the club press release, “Many saw us born, no one saw us die! », in capital letters.

The Gladiators Nîmes have been at open war for months with the president of the club, Rani Assaf. On December 10, in a press release, the ultras had indicated their “fear” about the future of the club, and asked for the return of an approved training center, lower prices, and, above all, “consideration” to regard to them.
