The 2022 season of Formula 1 is beginning to live and the teams will present the new design of their single-seaters over the coming weeks. This Wednesday was the turn of the Red Bull team, which revealed the new model created to reach the top of the championship, led by Max Verstappen and Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez.

The vehicle to be used this year, which was designed by Adrian Newey, was called the RB18 and only superficial features were shown. For now, the team led by Christian Horner decided to keep the technical changes in reserve, which would only be exposed in the Barcelona tests.

However, a notorious modification was confirmed, both for the brand and for the single-seater. From now on, the firm will be known as Oracle Red Bull Racing, after a commercial agreement with the American company. In the same way, the brand will appear on the sides of the car and on the external area of ​​the rear spoiler.

Similarly, Christian Horner expressed his expectations for the 2022 season during the presentation of the RB18. “The whole philosophy has changed with the changes in regulation, which means different components. When we get to the first race, the vehicle will not be the same as it is right now. The evolution will be fast, this car is coming to life and to see it this day is fantastic”, he explained.

For his part, Max Verstappen, who became champion in the Drivers’ World Championship in 2021 and who will now wear the number ‘1’, revealed his emotion: “I feel recharged and ready to drive again. I’m fine and the important thing is to prepare physically for the new regulations. The rest is easy, I don’t feel any extra pressure, I’ll just repeat what I do all the time. There’s no reason to be different”.

Finally, Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez confessed to being motivated for the competition in 2022: “Last year was quite a challenge, but I enjoyed it to the fullest, from the first to the last lap. I’m excited for what’s to come this season and ready to do the same. I hope we can (together with Max) provide you with good entertainment and great racing.”.
