Velásquez made his WWE debut on October 4, 2019 when he accompanied Rey Mysterio to face Brock Lesnar. After several weeks of confrontation, a fight is agreed between the former UFC champion and the ‘Beast’ at Crown Jewel on the 31st of that month for the company’s title. However, Cain was defeated after surrendering for a key from his rival and in April 2020 he terminated his contract with the company due to a budget cut due to the pandemic.
