The football world has been no stranger to Russia’s attacks on Ukraine that began more than a week ago. Several soccer players and former players have given their opinion in this regard to support the affected country. In the same way, the manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, referred again to this event in Europe.

“It is worrying, the war continues and it gets worse and worse. Oleksandr Zinchenko is incredibly involved with his country, doing projects and many things. He sometimes updates us on the situation, he knows what is going on better than anyone, he has family there”, mentioned in a press conference on the eve of the match against United for the local tournament.

In the same way, the technical director spoke about the actions of English fans and clubs at football matches in supporting Ukraine. “The gestures of the Premier League are important, but in the end they are just that, a gesture”he added.

On the other hand, he sent a message to the authorities. “Politicians are in their places to prevent these things, but they happen because they completely fail. They are not able to do it. The war is not about the flag or a piece of land. If there is no money involved, there is no war. Passage in Syria, Palestine and Yugoslavia”he explained.

Guardiola came out in defense of Zinchenko

A few days ago, Pep Guardiola also referred to the situation of his manager. “Zinchenko is worried, because obviously we all love the country where we were born. And if they kill your people, innocent people… How will you feel? We and the club are going to be close and help him with whatever it takes”, back.
