Kylian Mbappé’s goal to silence the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. PSG was winning 1-0 in Spain and 2-0 on aggregate. Thus, Mauricio Pochettino’s team was grouped near the goal to get closer to qualifying for the Champions League. However, one action changed the whole story: a pass to Gianluigi Donnarumma, pressure from Karim Benzema, loss of the ball and 1-1. That goalkeeper error was the beginning of the end for the Gauls, who were eliminated from the Champions League.

That bitter episode brought consequences for the Italian ‘1’. In fact, after the match, the newspaper Marca reported that Neymar criticized his teammate for the mistake in the play that ended with Benzema’s goal. So, Donnaruma was not silent and reminded the Brazilian that the second goal of the Spanish team was born from his loss.

The discussion was gaining heat, between the already high temperature of Paris Saint Germain, and they practically ended up at the hands. The other Parisian players, who were in the locker room at the time, avoided a worse episode.

Donnarumma’s mistake marked a before and after match, as PSG was filled with mistrust and allowed Real Madrid to come back with a Karim Benzema hat-trick. For Pochettino, Leonardo and the entire Parisian team, there was a lack of Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, from France, the RMC Sport radio station consulted with sources linked to ‘Les Bleus’ about the altercation between Neymar and Donnarumma. Thus, the local media reported that the crossing between the striker and the Brazilian never took place.

More tension due to elimination of PSG

But what happened in the locker room was almost nothing compared to the mess PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi made after the match, even going so far as to threaten a Real Madrid employee with death.

The boss of the Parisian club tried to enter the referees’ locker room to complain about Donnarumma’s play (they claim a foul), creating quite a scandal.

According to the journalist Javier Herráez of the SER chain, a Madrid employee recorded the incident with his mobile and; realizing this, Al Khelaïfi hit his phone threatening him: “I’ll kill you”, for recording said moment, which will be analyzed by UEFA after asking Real Madrid for the video of the moment.
