Chivas de Guadalajara visits Atlas, for date 11 of the Liga MX Closing Tournament 2022, in a new edition of the Clásico Tapatío. The forces between both teams were very even, until Roberto Alvarado appeared to break the parity in the second half, with a precise definition.

Everything happened around 65 minutes, when the ‘Sacred Flock’ had the ball in their possession on the opponent’s ground and was looking for a space to do damage. Fernando Beltrán controlled the area close and filtered a pass to Isaac Brizuela, who made a great diagonal, but had trouble getting the ball.

However, the winger was able to enable Jesús Angulo and he gave way to José Juan Macías. The striker received with spaces on the right side of the small rectangle and finished off crosswise, causing an impressive reaction from goalkeeper Camilo Vargas, although he did not completely clear the danger.

The ball was released and Roberto Alvarado appeared, anticipating any marker, to define an empty goal. The madness was unleashed in the Chivas de Guadalajara squad, since it is not only an important partial victory for the club, but it also leaves a special flavor as it is a classic.

Let’s remember that until before this day, the ‘Sacred Flock’ was in tenth position, with 12 points, entering the round of 16 of the league for the title. Meanwhile, Atlas was in fourth place, with 19 units, with direct passage to the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
