Thinking of Uruguay: know the lineup that Ricardo Gareca tried in training

The Peruvian team has been preparing in Videna for a week, planning the strategy for the matches against Uruguay in Montevideo and Paraguay in Lima, for the last double date of the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers. During these days, some foreign players were arriving to the capital and the technical command took the opportunity to test a lineup.

In practice this Monday, Ricardo Gareca decided to structure his ideal eleven, which could perhaps only have two modifications, considering the recent days played by the ‘Blanquirroja’ in the qualifying process. As it became known, the main team was made up as follows:

Pedro Gallese; Luis Advíncula, Christian Ramos, Alexander Callens, Marcos López; Wilder Cartagena, Yoshimar Yotún, André Carrillo, Edison Flores, Christian Cueva and Gianluca Lapadula (4-2-3-1).

One of the doubts is about the presence of the ‘Shadow’ in the central defense, since Carlos Zambrano had a good participation before and will fight to be a starter. In the left back zone, López seems to take advantage of Miguel Trauco, who does not have much continuity in his club.

On the other hand, this time Wilder Cartagena was considered in the middle of the court, before the late inclusion of Renato Tapia, who just arrived on Monday night. If “Cabezón” is physically fit, he will be the central axis of the Peruvian national team, along with Yoshimar Yotún.

Finally, for now Edison Flores appears above Sergio Peña due to the scheme chosen by Ricardo Gareca. The attack is complemented by the trio made up of Christian Cueva, André Carrillo and Gianluca Lapadula. This is not the final lineup and there could be news in the next few days of practice.
