Marcos Alonso: “There is a very good atmosphere in the Spanish team”

Marcos Alonso, a Chelsea player, highlighted the “good atmosphere” in the dressing room of the Spanish selection who, as he underlined, faces the next World Cup in Qatar “with great enthusiasm”.

In a video published on the official channels of the national team, the left-back stated that he is ready to “give everything” whenever coach Luis Enrique Martínez calls him to play for the national team.

“It is an honor to play in the national team. When you’re a kid and you want to be a footballer, you always want to play for the national team. A World Cup and a European Championship are tournaments you dream of since you were little”, said Alonso, who has five caps as an international after making his debut three years ago with the senior team.

In the conversation, held on the lawn of the RCDE Stadium where Spain will face Albania this Saturday in a friendly match, Alonso revealed with whom he shares the most moments in the concentration.

“There is a very good atmosphere. Now I am at the table with Jordi Alba, Rodri, Robert Sánchez and Éric García. The truth is that the group is very good”, he highlighted.

Regarding his options to continue receiving the call of the national team in the next calls, Alonso acknowledged that “right now” the position of left back “is very well covered.”
