Arturo Vidal had the bitter pill of staying out of the 2022 Qatar World Cup after the defeat (2-0) at home against Uruguay. Although the goal was not achieved, the midfielder of the Chilean team was proud of the team he formed and the players, as he expressed in a post on Instagram.

In the same way, he sent a message to the unconditional fans. “I want to thank all those who have always supported us, and also tell everyone that as a Chilean and a participant in this process, I feel tremendously proud of my colleagues and of all those who accompanied us”mentioned

Likewise, the midfielder stressed that the team will not give up and now will focus on the next Qualifiers. “Despite the sadness generated by not going to this World Cup, I want to make it clear that, as always, we will get up and fight again because in Chile we know that this is our only way of living”he added.

Arturo Vidal played 13 games in this qualifying process and scored four goals (one against Colombia, two against Peru and one against Venezuela). The ‘King’ became an important piece in Martín Lasarte’s team that finished in 7th place with 19 units.

Vidal on the coach’s continuity: “He has done a very good job”

After the game, the midfielder responded about the continuity of the DT in charge of the Chilean team. “That of the new technician I do not decide it. The ‘teacher’ has done a very good job. There was a difficult change that affected us all. If the ‘teacher’ continues, it’s good because he already knows us. He would have time to work.

Chilean soccer must improve a lot, send players to Europe. I hope that new talents join and that they go to Europe to play, to have that touch to help us in the Qualifiers, which are quite difficult “the midfielder responded to the microphones of TNT Sports Chile.
