Universitario de Deportes has had an irregular start to the season, but that has not prevented some athletes from standing out individually. That is the case of Piero Quispe, a 20-year-old midfielder who stands out in Liga 1 and stood out in the Copa Libertadores, thanks to his talent with the ball and his impressive display.

Due to his good performances, the promising ‘Cremas’ player is key in coach Álvaro Gutiérrez’s scheme and he recently confessed that, due to his characteristics, he feels identified with Christian Cueva, the skillful footballer who shines in the creative zone of the ‘White-red’.

I have always seen Cueva as the different from the Peruvian team, because of what he plays. I think he is my reference”, explained Piero Quispe in an interview for Willax Deportes.

In addition, the young footballer revealed that he had a brief chat with ‘Aladdin’ recently. “I just spoke to him, he answered me in a good way. His humility makes him greater. I thought that he was not going to answer me, but he did and he gave me some encouraging words”, reported the steering wheel of the ‘U’.

I wrote to him on Instagram, I told him he played well and thank God he replied. He has always been humble, as a person and on the court. He is a wonderful footballer, I always have him as a reference”, declared Piero Quispe, who has an extra incentive to continue shining in Liga 1.

How many games did Piero Quispe play this year?

So far in the 2022 season, Piero Quispe has played seven games in Liga 1, always as a starter. In addition, he adds two appearances in the Copa Libertadores, also being part of the starting eleven. If there are no problems, the midfielder will play against ADT, next Sunday, April 3 (3:30 pm).
