Manchester United stayed in seventh place with 51 points after Saturday’s defeat (1-0) against Everton and now sits six points behind fourth place, which qualifies for the UEFA Champions League. In this regard, goalkeeper David de Gea was one of the most self-critical in the ‘Red Devils’.

The Spanish goalkeeper revealed that the team did not take advantage of the rival’s tiredness when they played a match in the middle of the week. “They are always the same words. We knew we had to fight. They played on Wednesday and we felt they were a bit nervous, but we still lost the game. So it’s unfortunate for us, to be honest. we should have won”, he mentioned for BT Sport.

In the same way, the goalkeeper pointed out that the team was not fine in front of the goal. “The problem is that we don’t create adequate opportunities to score. I don’t know what to say, really. We haven’t been good enough, we haven’t been good enough. That’s clear”, he pointed.

“It will be very difficult to get into the top four (of the Premier League). Of course we don’t have the perfect atmosphere. But look, they were tired, but they fought to win. They have wanted it more than us. Is not acceptable. Very sad to lose today.” he added.

Cristiano Ronaldo apologized to a fan

The ‘Comandante’ threw a fan’s phone at Goodison Park after Manchester United’s defeat. After several hours, the Portuguese striker apologized to the fan for his reaction.

“It is never easy to deal with emotions in difficult times like the one we are experiencing. However, we always have to be respectful, patient and set an example for all young people who love the beautiful game.”Cristiano Ronaldo said in a message to his Instagram account.

Immediately, ‘CR7’ addressed the affected person on the ‘Toffees’ court. “I would like to apologize for my outburst and if possible I would like to invite this fan to watch a match at Old Trafford as a show of fair play and sportsmanship.”said the star of the Portugal team.
